Network Cabling |
DB Network Cabling applies the very best practice
to their projects. Any network whether to run computers or telephones
needs to be structured in a way that enables growth, flexibility and easy
troubleshooting.
Structured Network Cabling is the name given to the cables that link
business machines within an office to ensure that connections are robust,
flexible and scalable.
Structured Network Cabling was introduced in the late 80s to replace
bulky and inflexible (protocol dependent) coaxial cabling. Buildings were
cabled with a 4 pair unshielded twisted pair cable.
This new cable was able to support most equipment including computers
telephones, printers fax, video etc. The freedom and flexibility that the
new network cabling introduced allowed staff to move offices, change
office layout and upgrade systems in a time and at a cost previously only
dreamed of.
In the last 20 years, structured network cabling has progressed
significantly. Cables are generally category 5e or category 6. Both offer
a total solution with guaranteed speeds of 1 GB (that’s fast!) but cat 6
offers even further enhanced performance to handle future
demands.
